Plasterboard ceilings cannot normally support a pendant light directly, so the joists must be located or a load-bearing backing board fitted before hanging the fixture. This package deals specifically with pendant installation under such ceiling conditions. The service includes locating the joists behind the plasterboard, or confirming the area where a backing board is required; fitting a load-bearing backing board or conversion bracket; fixing the pendant canopy or hook to the reinforced structure; and completing hanging and power-on testing. If the existing ceiling opening does not match the new pendant base, the installer will adjust the opening or adapt the area around the base according to the site condition.
